There are 110 individuals who are currently in our program.
CHHAMH-U (Coffee, Hip-Hop & Mental Health University) aims to remove the financial, systemic and emotional barriers to help make therapy more easily accessible for the Black residents of Chicago. This program is funded by way of our coffee shop model and by various donations that allow us to bridge the gap between community and talk therapy. And our goal is to successfully match and schedule at least 250 individuals per year with one of our trusted and vetted licensed therapist partners.
We've extended the program to five months of free therapy at 20 free sessions per applicant. At $100 per session, each applicant will cost this organization $2000.00.
CHHAMH-U funds individual and weekly group therapy sessions for those dealing with daily life issues, unresolved childhood trauma, depression and anxiety. This scholarship is intended for those who may not otherwise be able to meet the costs of therapy on their own. With our Partial Scholarship program, you will receive 20 free therapy sessions with one of our trusted licensed therapist partners.
